Welcome to the second installment of “The Nightwatchbear of Prague!” Between last week and this week, our little friend got exhausted by the hustle and bustle of the Old Town Square. For his stop this week, he wanted to go somewhere a little more secluded, and almost nowhere in Prague is more secluded than the Klementinum!
This collection of buildings was built in 1556 by the Jesuits, the largest sect in the entire Catholic Church! Despite being known for its ability to block out sound, it’s actually the second largest complex of buildings in all of Prague, only being beaten by Prague Castle!
I’m sure our bear will find quite a bit to do around here. For example, he might like to pay a visit to the National Library – just like a certain plague doctor did over 300 years ago… but that’s a story for another evening. Perhaps you might learn more about him if you follow us on more of the nightwatchbear’s journey or you can join our Plague doctor tour!
